Parenting Seminar – Saturday June 16, 9:15am-12noon Cost $8 ($15 per couple)

Parenting is a job which often leaves us feeling ill-equipped and frustrated.  If you would like to get some great practical advice from two experienced parents and educators then come along to our Parenting Seminar. Morning tea will be provided. Parenting books will be available for purchase on the day.

BOUNDARIES WITH KIDS: Kerry Manson is an Early Childhood teacher with 20+ years teaching experience (3-8yr olds) and 27 years mothering experience.  She will present a Christian-based discussion encouraging parents in how to support and nurture children with loving boundaries. While Kerry’s talk will focus on children in the 4-8 age bracket, the principles can be applied to younger/older children as well.

CHILDHOOD ANXIETY: Beate Teale will explore what anxiety looks like in children, and the answer may surprise you!  She will look at your role as parent and how you can be a non-anxious presence.  She will help you work out whether your child really has a headache/tummyache or whether they are just wanting to ‘wag’.  Beate is wife to Steve and mum of three adult boys.  She is a Family Counsellor with personal experience in dealing with anxiety, as well as having completed her thesis on this topic.  This talk will apply to children of all ages.
